Acorn nashville closing
It was in upstate New York that a shy little girl developed her love of the stage. My family is not musical people, but I grew up around music. One day when I was seven or eight, I was singing something.
I thought there was no way I could sing in front of people. The thought of it scared me. However, when I was in middle school, someone suggested I do the talent show. But I thought I could never do it. At the time, I loved The Blackeye Peas.
I was a die-hard Fergie fan; in fact, my old email was Fergfanforever. Somehow, Alexandria gained the courage to get on stage. Fortunately, that decision would pay off the young girl. She found an incredible vocal coach, and my choir teacher also helped me.
It was at that moment that I decide to take singing seriously. I actually loved being on stage. After winning the middle school talent show, Alexandria Corn would begin on her path to eventually bring her to Nashville.
During high school, I auditioned for American Idol. At sixteen, I was proud to get through the first two rounds. I wanted to make music out there.
A t the time, I was making country music. However, my first year in LA was extremely rough. I shared a one-bedroom apartment with three other people. We converted the living room into a bedroom. That was fun. Interestingly, while many people think of LA as the place for pop music and Nashville as the place for country, there is a vibrant pop scene in Nashville and a country scene in LA.
Corn described her LA experience. I met Tyler Rich and Curt Chambers out there, and luckily for me, they took me under their wing. Let us adorn you. We know that finding your dream dress isn't always easy and can sometimes feel discouraging.

Servers were fun, polite, and attentive, and the food and cocktails were delicious. The ambience and decor is a great blend between modern and cozy My husband and I go out to eat several times a week since we both work and never feel like cooking when we get home.
We love to try different restaurants, but if we find one we like we stick with it. The Acorn impresses us every time we go. The food is consistently great, and they have many of the same servers we have been seeing there for years.
They treat us like royalty when we walk in the door. Being recognized and taken care of for going back to the same restaurant twice is not something we would expect, but it makes the experience that much better. I don't think you can go wrong with The Acorn.
I have been going to the acorn since opening and the last visit was very disapointing. I used to consider the acorn as my favorite restaurant in Nashville, and apparently they have a new chef.
The menu has changed completely. We ordered the lamb. The sauces for the lamb were very bland. I will always enjoy the atmophere and the friendly service, yet this is experience will always stick out to me. I will try it again, yet I hope the next experience will be more enjoyable. This is a staple for us. We have been thrilled with the food, service, atmosphere, everything, each time we have visited.
The menu is filled with something for everyone and I haven't tried a single thing there that wasn't delicious and impressive. Its affordable, friendly, and the locatoin is awesome! This is SUCH a wonderful place to visit. You will love The Acorn! Pros: The Best in town in every realm After dining at the Acorn several times, I did not think that the food could be topped.
However, after a recent experience tasting the new chefs cuisine, my assumptions were proven wrong. The specials are mouthwatering, and the presentation is as tasty as the food itself. The excellent food is accompanied by stellar customer service. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation today! Last Saturday was our first date night out since having our baby and we wanted to try something different. The restaurant was awesome from the vibrant atomosphere to the attentive service.
I had the halibut and it was cooked perfectly. My wife raved about her fish special. Our server was very personable. We had a very special evening and will definitely be back. We have been going to Acorn for about years now.
We decided to head over and have a few "Diamond Martinis" on the patio. The restaurant was empty it was a Saturday night. I ordered my drink and it came out-with out the diamonds sugar rim while we waited for our friends to arrive. They got there a few moments later and my girlfriend ordered the same thing, and again it was minus the sugar.
Which isn't a huge deal but its called this for a reason. As the waitress is setting down our drink she says to us its last call. Its only So my friends ordered another birthday drink, and she promptly -and rudely brought it back out with our ticket. This was just a little rude. The other staff inside were sitting at the bar, almost pushing us out the door with the dirty looks. Our waitress probably paced back and forth the entire time we "downed" our drinks.
So don't go for a place for a drink on a Saturday night. They will try to pour it down your throat as your being shoved out the door. I was meeting my two sisters in Nashville for a weekend away I live in Chattanooga. I called the day before to make a reservation and the person on the phone was friendly and extremely helpful she suggested the balcony for atmsphere. We arrived at the time of our reservation and there was no record of it, no biggie since we still were seated where we had requested and immediately.
The hostess was a little flighty and gave us only two menus there were three of us and no wine list. However, our server was wonderful, playing into our festive mood and making excellent reccommendations. The food was fabulous, you must have the salad with the apples and gorgonzola I Licked my plate and the seviche. My sisters had the special, and loved them.
We had the chocolate dessert and great martinis as well. The vibe is great several bars hidden throughout, perfect for a date and the staff seems to enjoy working there.
The only downside was a faint smell from the pond, but it was gone in moments. Overall excellent experience. I took my girlfriend to The Acorn for Valentines day and it was well worth it. Although the chef had specifically prepared selections for the evening, I gave the restaurant heads up that we would need a vegetarian option and they were only too accomdating.
Definintely a great experience overall. I've had reservations a couple of times, but something has always come up. This past Saturday, I went with 5 friends for a birthday celebration. The staff was friendly and courteous and very helpful when I realized I needed directions , the dinner was superb menu was very inclusive of a variety of dishes I couldn't have asked for a better meal or better company! I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit to Nashville so I can go again!
Pros: Fast, friendly service enhanced by a divine menu and fantastic wine list. Cons: Parking is a little tricky if you don't want to valet - but not terrible. I have been meaning to go to The Acorn since it opened a few years ago, but for some reason, last week was my first time in. My friends have all been saying how good it is, and they were right. I took a date, and did not make a reservation. The place was nearly full, but we did not have to wait at all for a table.
We were greeted with a smile when we walked through the door, and our server was just as kind. Wine knowledge is not my strong suit, and our server helped steer me in the right direction without making me look bad. The food was amazing and plentiful! We both cleaned our plates and did not leave room for dessert, so we are going back there on our second date!
I should have gone years ago! Dont wait, you are missing a great restaurant! The Acorn is a good restaurant, but, it is not the best in town. Our wait for our reservation was long which was quite embarassing considering we had my husband's business contacts in from out of town whom we were entertaining. The service was slow. The food was quite was average. I thought the veranda was a wonderful feature, I only wish we had been seated at the time of our reservation rather than 30 minutes later.
There are definitely better establishments in Nashville and we will not be referring anyone or dining there again. Cons: had to wait 30 minutes for our reservation, slow service, staff apathy. Have you heard? This is one of our favorite restaurants because of the consistently wonderful food and unusually great service. We always feel like VIP's when we go, and we love trying the Chef's special entrees.
We saw the Pastry Chef on one of the local News shows, and had to go in to try her desserts! Don't miss the Pear and Aniseed Gateaux! We tried two of the new martinis, and they were both to die for! Go sit on the best patio in the city, have dinner and a martini, and save room for dessert! It was after we were seated when my friends and I were informed that happy hour didn't apply to the patio.
This is NOT mentioned anywhere on their website or radio ads. In fact, on the website, patrons are encouraged to go out on the patio right next to description of happy hours. You could see how one would be confused. The waitress happily informed us that it was ok, we could just order off the menu. I would expect to be treated like that at a used car dealership, but not a restaurant. It's just shifty and blatant gauging.
We were also the literally the ONLY people in the entire restaurant which seemed odd. There are so many great restaurants in Nashville, I'd recommend patronizing them rather than this place. The food was terrific. The ambience amazing. I love the candles and decor.
The music made it even better. Parking should not be an issue since valet is available. My waiter was rude, the other customers were pretentious and even laughable. I would receommend McDonalds around the corner over this place. The Acorn is a lovely place with a warm atmosphere and very nice employees. However, the food was tastless and overdone. I asked for my salmon to be medium, but the cook served me the end piece and upside-down so the dark part showed, and the filet was too thin to cook it medium.
My dinner companion did say her scallop appetizer was good, however. Like most Nashville restaurants in the "upscale" price range, the Acorn disappoints. My party got the tuna, lamb, and NY strip.
The Strip was properly cooked to medium, but the outside was so charred that the overwhelming flavor was charcoal briquette. Additionally, the cut was thinner than what youd get at Outback. The tuna was the best selection; however, it was not of the same taste quality as you might find in similarly or lower priced restaurants. On the plus side, our server was excellent and knowledgeable.
We also enjoyed our appetizers: scallops and fried eulachon a special. The pear salad was also good; the dressing on the Greek salad was poorly prepared and the olives were of low quality.
I was invited by a co-worker to a business dinner at the Acorn. I had heard the name, but had never dined there. Though initially hard to find, this remodeled house was alive and buzzing.
